Wal-Mart lawsuit
A Wal-Mart lawsuit is not news anymore. The company is constantly being criticized by community groups, grassroots organizations, trade unions and environmental groups for its extensive foreign product sourcing, treatment of employees and environmental carelessness. Employees report more and more often cases of sex discrimination and violation of labor laws. In fact, the class action sex discrimination lawsuit against Wal-Mart is the largest civil rights class action ever certified.
Recently Wal-Mart had to face accusations of illegal activities, including predatory pricing. The practice of using cheap, foreign labor in order to provide its customers with lower prices, draw the attention of the local communities because of the impact on the local labor market. In addition, the opening of a new Wal-Mart store involves critics regarding issues like traffic problems, environment problems, public safety, absentee landlordism, bad public relations, low wages and benefits, and predatory pricing.
The strict work regulations and management practices of Wal-Mart were also subjects for a Wal-Mart lawsuit. In 2005, a German court ruled that Wal Mart's policy of forbidding dating relationships and strongly discouraging flirting among coworkers is against German law and can not apply to the company's German stores.
Because the number of complains of Wal-Mart employees is growing constantly, there were created few measures for making things right. The hot lines for complains and the association of the employees can’t always solve the problems and this is why many people decide to file a Wal-Mart lawsuit.
